Dooitu DIY | FIMO Glitter Rabbits
As a decoration in the window or on the table, the cute FIMO effect bunnies in glitter colors will spread good cheer everywhere. Each bunny body consists of a chicken egg, which is quickly and easily wrapped with long strings of FIMO effect glitter. The best way to make the cords is to use the FIMO professional Clay Extruder. Just pour in the modelling paste, turn the crank and, as if by magic, a perfectly shaped FIMO cord of uniform length and thickness is created.
1 - The belly of the rabbit is made of a blown chicken egg wrapped in a spiral with FIMO effect color glitter. The body parts (ears, front and hind legs) are cut from a glitter strip of laminated FIMO effect. To begin, prepare the necessary amounts of FIMO effect glitter for the color blends:
2 - Pink rabbit For the pink egg shell 4 pieces of FIMO effect white glitter and 1/8 piece of FIMO effect red glitter; for the pink body parts 4 pieces of FIMO effect white glitter and 1/4 piece of FIMO effect red glitter.
3 - Blue rabbit For the blue egg shell 4 pieces of FIMO effect white glitter and 1/8 piece of FIMO effect blue glitter; for the blue body parts 4 pieces of FIMO effect white glitter and 1/4 piece of FIMO effect blue glitter.
4 - Green rabbit For the blue egg shell 4 pieces of FIMO effect white glitter and 1/8 little piece of FIMO effect green glitter; for the green body parts 4 pieces of FIMO effect white glitter and 1/4 little piece of FIMO effect green glitter. Spread the specified amount of white FIMO effect glitter with the acrylic roller on a piece of baking paper. Apply the specified amount of FIMO effect glitter in the red, blue or green colors and flatten these as well. Fold the rolled modeling dough in half, roll, fold, roll again, etc. until the colors are completely mixed. Similarly, make a strip about 2-3 mm thick for the body parts with the colors shown.
5 - The FIMO effect strings needed to wrap the egg are especially easy to make with the FIMO professional Clay Extruder. Hand-roll the pink, blue or light green FIMO effect strip until it forms a roll. Fill the Clay Extruder with half a roll, insert the disc with the pattern with the 2 mm hole (follow the instructions for use) and make a long string of FIMO effect. Make another long string with the other half of the roll.
6 - Press one end of the string onto an egg yolk and spiral wrap the FIMO effect string around the egg. Make transitions from string to string. Tip: Create Easter eggs in colors that coordinate with the Easter bunnies in the shape of a hanging ring. You can create single-color or multi-color Easter eggs. For these designs just change the color when wrapping the FIMO effect rope. Print out the pattern templates on paper and cut them out. Place the patterns for the ear, front paw and back paw on the pink, blue or green FIMO effect strip. Cut out the patterns along the edge of the paper template twice from the strip, the ear once from the opposite side. Press the front and back legs inward in two places with a sharp modeling stick. Knead the remnants of the pink, light blue or light green FIMO effect rope and roll them out with the acrylic roller until you have a thin strip. Using the template, cut the inner ear twice from the strip, once from the opposite side.
7 - Press the inner ear onto the ear, flattening the edges of the inner ear with a finger or modeling rod. Use the pink cutouts to shape a small round nose for the blue or green bunny, use the pink cutouts to make a nose for the pink bunny. Now press all the body parts onto the wrapped egg in the appropriate place, flatten the transitions to the body and fold the ears. With the help of the Clay Extruder and the pattern disc with 1mm holes, create thin short strings of black soft FIMO (amount: about 1 piece) and press to make the mouth. Press two very small black balls to use as eyes. Harden the bunny in an oven at 110 °C for 30 minutes, resting the ears with a small glass to keep them in shape while hardening. Take out, let cool and color.
