Our cardigan is clearly folk-inspired, reminding us of 1960s fashion with its burnt shades mixed with white. But we have revisited it in a modern key, where the colors are combined with a beautiful oversize pattern.

SHRINK TREATMENT An unshrinkable treatment is performed on wool aimed at reducing the felting property that wool naturally has when subjected to thermal and mechanical stress. The felting property is related to the morphology of the fiber, which is characterized by a cylindrical shape with more or less pronounced scales arranged in only one direction of fiber flow; if the fibrous aggregate is subjected to mechanical stresses of compression and movement, the different fibers form a compact, stable and irreversible structure due to the mutual mechanical hooks formed by the edges of the scales. The unshrinkable treatment rounds off the protruding flake edges.
Merino wool - history, news, curiosities
The breed of sheep best known in the world for the quality of its fleece is the Merino breed, currently the most widely used in the production of yarn for high-quality needlework. Although Australia and New Zealand are the countries where the Merino breed has been selected, this breed has also become acclimated gives excellent results in terms of both quantity and quality in other countries, such as Chile. Merino wool has been classified into subcategories according to the fineness of the fiber, expressed in microns. 24.5 to 22.5 merino 22.5 to 20.5 merino fine 20.5 to 19 merino extrafine 19 to 17 merino superfine 17 to 15 merino ultrafine This classification is used in the needlework world for wool from not only merino sheep but also other breeds. An ethical attitude toward animal welfare is increasingly being manifested among needlery yarn companies. Mulesing is a cruel surgical practice that involves animal suffering, as it involves the removal of flaps of skin and hair in the perianal area, where flies can lay eggs and develop parasites that can later lead to the animal's death. Widely practiced in Australia, especially on the Merino breed, often without anesthesia or special precautions, it is now opposed by the major yarn manufacturers: in fact, even SESIA contributes to this fight, certifying its Merino wools as Mulesing Free. Sesia's Mistral and Nordica products are made from the highest quality extrafine merino, in two thicknesses of 4 and 6 ply, respectively. There are as many as 72 shades in the color charts for Mistral and 63 for Nordica, from classics to naturals, not forgetting colors-news for the season. Mistral and Nordica lend themselves to all kinds of processing, whether for men's, women's or children's garments, especially in terms of excellent stitch definition for impressive texture
